Every writer is special because what they say is important. No-one can say it as well as a dedicated, passionate writer who has spent time seriously thinking about a topic and why they are writing.

Only a writer can speak directly to a reader in a ways that:

  • moves and changes hearts,
  • wins readers over to a particular point of view,
  • or takes a reader into a world that only their unique imagination creates.

When writers enter THE GREAT KIWI WRITE OFF they learn one of the most important life skills they will need for their futures.

They will learn how to:

  • wisely use words to deliver powerful messages
  • engage readers by empathetically understanding their concerns
  • or draw them into wonderful worlds of the imagination.

Each writer is also entering a competitive arena, pitting their writing skills against other budding writers.

This teaches resilience, acceptance of the results and motivates them to keep trying, to keep working at improving.

But more importantly the experience is enjoyable because it is like entering the ‘real world’ where deadlines must be met, creativity count, and word count limits actually matter.

THE GREAT KIWI WRITE OFF is training students in these critical real-life skills.
